Day 9 - Fancy Sandwiches

Sometimes my McMen and I decide that instead of cooked dinner, we want sandwiches, and instead of regular sandwiches, we want "FANCY" sandwiches.

I can tell you right now that there is nothing all that fancy about these sandwiches except how freaking expensive they end up being.  We get bread we wouldn't otherwise have in the house that is filled with nuts or herbs or swirls of rye.  We buy deli sliced meats, the kind that we actually have to order and watch someone slice, instead of the good old blocks of Kirkland turkey breast that live in the freezer.  We buy vegetables that will make our sandwiches extra fantastic; avocados, butter lettuce and sandwich sliced pickles (which might be the single biggest scam in America's grocery stores today).  Joel insists upon buying sprouts, which Ri and I both agree are disgusting, but I'm never going to tell Joel that he is not permitted a vegetable.

We get everything prepped and the ingredients take up all of the space on our counter.  We each pick and choose our favorites and build an epic sandwich (except for Ri because he doesn't like condiments and you can't have an epic sandwich without condiments).

And then...we eat the hell right out of those sandwiches.  Because even if they aren't really all that fancy, they are always delicious.

In the case that it isn't obvious, Happy Fancy Sandwich night everyone!
